A proven strategic and operational Army leader and defense industry executive with broad knowledge and experience in Army and joint military doctrine, planning and execution. Specific experience in joint integrated air and missile defense, Army planning, programming, and budget execution, weapons systems acquisition and modernization and defense industry contribution to national defense.
Retiring as a Brigadier General after nearly 38 years of military service, Chris commanded at multiple levels to include Commanding General of an Army Air and Missile Defense Command. Leading nearly 10,000 soldiers and an annual $160 million budget, he provided trained and ready rotational Air and Missile Defense forces (Patriot, THAAD and SHORAD) to multiple Combatant Commanders. With nearly three-fourths of the Army’s air defense forces under his leadership, he spearheaded multiple advances in training readiness, leader development and weapons systems modernization. He also served in several senior staff positions to include Deputy Area Air Defense Commander and Theater Army Air Defense Coordinator.
His strategic and operational planning expertise proved pivotal for development of a transformational multi-year implementation strategy for the Army’s Air Defense Artillery force. Additionally, Chris supervised a multi-disciplinary team for the review, re-write and implementation of air and missile defense plans in support of U.S. strategic and operational efforts in the Middle East.
With his recent defense industry experience, Chris served as an advisor to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defense Transformation Management Office and the Royal Saudi Arabian Air Defense Force to support MoD transformation and the establishment of a joint force headquarters. Chris also served as a director in a major defense company where his focus was on integrated air and missile defense, joint all domain command and control and Army multi-domain operations and synthetic training.
