Rich Shook is a proven change agent possessing the unique ability to coalesce and lead stakeholders with competing priorities. With over 20 years of senior leadership experience serving within diverse organizations, he is an adroit team builder with strength in strategic planning, joint command and control, building coalitions, strategic communication, process improvement, and requirements management.
Retiring as a major general in the U.S. Air Force Reserve with over 2,200 flying hours in the F-15, T-37 and T-38, he has served in command, senior staff, and contingency operations. Following his military retirement Rich joined General Electric Aviation as their Senior Manager of USAF Customer Programs.
While serving on the Air Force Reserve Executive Steering Committee and Strategic Planning Council, he created the framework for the $5.2 billion budget while also driving aggressive strategic communications efforts to better articulate Reserve policy decision. Rich also co-chaired the Saudi Arabian Integrated Air and Missile Defense Committee and steered an implementation plan which cemented support from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates despite a myriad of strategic and diplomatic hurdles. Additionally, he frequently represented Reserve equities at corporate-level forms with the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and key strategic senior leaders.
