Dave Frostman is a Stellar Advisor with expansive military and corporate senior executive experience in space systems development and operations. His primary skillsets include strategic planning, lean acquisition, joint warfighting, and organizational change leadership.
A graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Dave’s military career encompassed 38 years culminating in retirement as a major general.
While assigned to Air Force Space Command he focused on Total Force (Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve) capabilities in support of the space mission sets. As the Mobilization Assistant at the Space and Missile Systems Center, he led efforts to improve strategic planning and implement lean acquisition processes. During his duty at 14th Air Force he helped fully integrate space capabilities into joint warfighting.
His military career also included duty at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory where he helped develop the first prototype airborne high-energy laser weapon system. Additionally, as a college professor, Dave taught astronautics and computer science at the U.S. Air Force Academy and is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver teaching graduate courses in organizational change leadership, operations and project management, team effectiveness, decision making, and disruptive technology.
As an executive at Ball Aerospace, Dave led the company’s activities in the defense and intelligence arenas. At Stellar Solutions, Dave led numerous efforts in integrating support across diverse customer sets. He also started the internal process improvement effort that led to Stellar’s selection as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award winner.
