Dave Scott is a senior executive in the defense industry with 34 years of service in the U.S. Air Force before his retirement as a major general. His primary skillsets from these two career paths include strategic and operational planning, acquisition, budgeting and programming, strategic communications and senior leader mentoring.
As a USAF pilot, Dave logged over 3000 flying hours primarily in the F-4, F-5, F-15, F-16, and C-130 aircraft. During his expansive military career, he served in multiple command and staff positions, and received several USAF level recognitions to include the General Jerome O’Malley Leadership Award, the Jabara Award for Airmanship, and the Lieutenant General Claire Chennault Award.
While serving at Headquarters USAFE, Dave spearheaded the command’s support of the new European Phased Adaptive Approach program for missile defense. During his tour within the Air Staff at the Pentagon, he chaired the Air Force Requirements Oversight Council and shaped capabilities-based requirements for the future. As the NATO deputy commander for CAOC 7 in Greece, he planned security activities and controlled the response forces aligned in support of the 6-day long NATO Summit in Bucharest, Hungary.
Dave currently serves as the Senior Advisor to the Institute for Future Conflict at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He also sits on the Colorado Springs United Service Organization (USO) Advisor Council, is a board member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Council, and is a trustee on the USAF Academy’s Falcon Foundation.
