Duke Heinz joins the Stellar Advisor team as a career logistician with over 30 years of service in the U.S. Navy. As a highly experienced senior executive in global logistics and supply chain management, he is recognized as an accomplished change agent, strategist and collaborative leader known for innovation using a “high-velocity results” formula.
Retiring from the U.S. Navy as a 2-star Rear Admiral, his military career encompasses key command and staff positions related to logistics and infrastructure. With a deep history of driving transformation initiatives across complex organizations, Duke spurred process improvements to boost operating performance through his expertise in logistics management, strategic planning, process improvement, supply management and transformational leadership.
As the Director of Logistics at U.S. European Command he served as the principal advisor to the commander for all U.S. military logistics in the European region by setting the vision and direction for logistics operations for 68,000 U.S. forces across 51 countries. Prior to that Duke was the commander of Naval Supply Systems Command where he led a team of 2,300 personnel across 3 sites providing global logistics and supply chain management functions for 3,900+ aircraft as well as 300 ships and submarines, and nuclear reactors.
While assigned to the Pentagon, Duke served in a key strategic role for the Joint Staff as he directed logistics and business operations for the entire U.S. military complex with a focus on policy, planning and resourcing. Within that role he spearheaded the creation of the Joint Staff’s comprehensive long-range plan for executing logistics in a contested environment.
