Martha Herb is a dynamic leader with a successful track record and unique areas of expertise acquired through a blended career in military executive leadership and as a provider of clinical counseling and personal coaching. As a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral with a Doctorate in Education, she brings remarkable expertise to Stellar Solutions clients as they meet their critical needs.
As the Director of the Inter-American Defense College she led the Western Hemisphere’s graduate school for Defense and Security under the auspices of the Organization of American States, the Inter-American Defense Board, and the Joint Staff. Most significantly, she orchestrated the first-ever accreditation of the IADC in its more than 50-year history.
While serving at the Navy Installations Command as the Reserve Deputy Commander, Martha managed the 1.2 billion-dollar enterprise responsible for shore support to the Navy and oversight of installation management throughout the Navy.
During her 12-month long deployment to Afghanistan supporting NATO’s International Security Afghanistan Force (ISAF), she coordinated and negotiated directly with key leaders in the Afghan government on all matters related to the international agreement between NATO, the ISAF Commander and the ISAF Forces.
Martha began her U.S. Navy career in underwater diving and was one of the first three female officers to graduate from the Navy School of Diving and Salvage. She remained in that path for the first half of her career while commanding five operational units before promotions placed her in the senior leader and flag officer track.
As a Stellar Advisor, Martha provides senior executive expertise in multiple arenas to include professional development strategies, leadership and mentoring, workplace stress mitigation, strategic planning, international engagement, exercise planning, and whole of government operations.
