Mike Rocco retired from the United States Marine Corps following a 37-year career that revolved around military aviation, joint operations, manpower, and personnel management. Known as an accomplished leader and team builder, he gained vast experience in leading, motivating, managing and inspiring diverse teams. Now serving as the President and CEO of the Marines’ Memorial Association and Foundation, he brings to Stellar Solutions an incredible breadth of expertise that allows him to support our client’s critical needs.
Retiring as a lieutenant general, Mike served during his final assignment as the principal advisor to the Commandant of the Marine Corps on all matters concerning the training, assignment and retention of Marines. In that capacity he modernized all the manpower processes, coordinated the USMC’s first system conversion to “the cloud,” and conducted extensive liaison on Capitol Hill with Senators, Representatives, and staff members on all manpower issues.
While serving as the Commanding General for the 3rd Marine Aviation Wing at MCAS Miramar, Mike was responsible for the operational readiness of over 17,000 Marines and 400 aircraft. During this tour of duty, he ensured the successful stand-up of the USMC’s first F-35 squadron and managed an annual operating budget of over 800 million dollars.
