Rick Snyder is a retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral with decades of experience leading large, complex organizations in challenging, dynamic, resource constrained circumstances. With proven ability to develop effective, visionary strategies for change in response to dynamic operating environments, he brings deep expertise to our clients in strategic planning, risk management, international and inter-governmental relationships, partnership building, oversight and program compliance, and organizational assessments.
Rick retired from the U.S. Navy with 38 years of service with his final assignment being the Department of the Navy’s Inspector General. He additionally served for more than four years as an admiral conducting critical strategy and policy development on the Joint Staff and at NORAD/NORTHCOM.
During his Navy career, Rick commanded two Navy helicopter squadrons deploying helicopter detachments worldwide and leading flight and tactical training of pilots and aircrew. He also commanded the USS BATAAN, an 840-foot amphibious assault ship, with a crew and embarked marine complement of over 2500 people and 30+ aircraft. Finally, as the commander of Expeditionary Strike Group TWO, Rick was responsible for the training and deployment of all the Navy’s east coast amphibious forces, comprised of over 20 organizations and 20 Sailors.
Rick has significant experience implementing, executing and assessing Navy-wide programs to address destructive behaviors such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, unethical behavior, suicide and substance abuse. Experienced at the most senior levels of the Department of Defense, he has a global perspective on risk management, international and inter-governmental relationships, and team building.
