John Wissler is a Stellar Advisor with over 39 years experience in leading dynamic, multi-faceted, resource constrained, results driven organizations. Retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps as a lieutenant general, John commanded six large units as a senior officer serving over a dozen years as a General Officer. Significant staff assignments included Senior Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, and Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources at Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps.
John’s support of overseas continency operations included four deployments for Operation Iraqi Freedom including as a member of the US Joint Forces Command Joint Warfare Analysis Center team analyzing in-place logistics capabilities to support the increase in U.S. forces in Iraq known as “The Surge.” He also led humanitarian relief operations in the Philippines in 2013 following Super Typhoon Haiyan, and for earthquake relief in Nepal in 2015.
As a senior executive consultant John’s primary skillsets include leadership development, team building, strategic planning, and logistics fields. He is a Senior Advisor in Contract Research at Battelle Memorial Institute, the Distinguished Chair of Leadership at the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership, a member of the Australian Northern Territories Strategic Defense Advisory Board, and is also active in leadership development and developing winning teams for professional sports teams and several colleges.
