A results-oriented leader with 36 years of diverse experience in strategic and operational settings, Roger Mathews is extremely well-versed in operational planning, military applications in use of Space, and all aspects of Air Defense and Ballistic Missile Defense. His skillsets as a senior executive include strategic communications, operational and strategic planning, training and teambuilding, and risk assessment and management.
Retiring from the U.S. Army as a Major General, Roger has commanded at multiple levels and served in the Pacific, Europe, Southwest Asia and the Middle East. Now working as a consultant for PW Communications and as a Stellar Advisor for Stellar Solutions, he has proven ability to critically analyze complex problems and find the most efficient solutions.
Roger had several notable accomplishments. While serving as the Deputy Commanding General for U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), he assisted in the development and implementation of USARPAC’s “Pathways Program” where Army Brigade-sized task forces were trained to a high level of proficiency and then deployed afloat throughout the Indo-Asia Pacific theater. This ‘force in presence’ added significant combat capability in support of U.S. Pacific Command (now U.S. INDOPACOM). While serving as the U.S. Army’s Chief of Air Defense Artillery he led the restructuring and modernization of the Air Defense Artillery Branch and moved it from Fort Bliss, TX, to Fort Sill, OK. Lastly, in 2006, while serving as the DCG for U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, as the DoD’s Approval Authority (DAA) for three military satellite programs including Wideband Gap Filler, he led all efforts to ensure continuity and security of those platforms/networks.
As a Stellar Advisor, Roger has supported multiple U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) joint exercises and senior leader seminars to include Vigilant Shield and the Ballistic Missile Defense System Wargame series.
